4/16/2023 0 Comments Tyme river![]() ![]() ![]() From the bridge, follow the mix of dedicated paths and roads along the rive (Shore Rd., Tyne Rd.). From the Millennium Bridge, you can run ~5 miles east to Riverside Park. There’s also nice running on the south bank of the River Tyne. South Bank Headed East to Riverside Park. Our map ends at the end of Hadrian’s Way, but you can continue north along Cycle Route 72 for another 2.5 miles to the Wallsend or Hadrian Rd. The paved Cycle Route 72 path aklso runs east alongside the water for 3.2 miles to Riverside Park, with nice water views the whole way! At Mile 2, entering Riverside Park, option to continue along inland on Cycle Route 72, or right alongside the river on Hadrian’s Way. North Bank Headed East to Riverside Park. Paths continue west of there, but they’re not 100% seamless. There are nice views of the river the whole way. It’s 3.5 miles to the bridge just east of the A1. A nearly seamless paved path, also called Cycle Route 72, runs along the north side of the river west to Scottswood. Note: no bridges east of Millennium Bridge until the Tyne Pedestrian Tunnel. ![]() Near the centre, Tyne Bridge, Millennium Bridge, and Redeugh Bridge are good for crossing. Nearly 7 miles on the north side, and 5+ miles on the south side. Stitch together your own route, using the options & suggestions below. There are several miles of paths and seven bridges along the River Tyne that make for some nice running. ![]()
